Trump signs Russia sanctions bill championed by Lindsey Graham
President Trump signed a sweeping bipartisan bill on Friday to sanction Russia and authorize up to 100% tariffs on countries purchasing Russian oil, legislation championed by the late Sen. Lindsey Graham. The Lindsey O. Graham Sanctioning Russia and Iran Act of 2026 passed the House 262-159 on September 16 and had already cleared the Senate 86-11 in August. The bill imposes visa- and property-blocking sanctions on Russian President Vladimir Putin and certain military commanders, and extends Iran-related sanctions law.
